Hali Ford voted Pandora Sparkling Butterfly Charm off
Success on the CBS show often has as much to do with luck as it does gameplay, and Knoxville native Hali Ford experienced both good luck and bad the past two weeks, ending with her elimination from the competition tonight.
As tonight show opened, it was revealed that Ford became the primary target of the dominant, eight member alliance last week after their original target Joe Anglim, a strong Pandora Valentine 2016 member of Ford minority, four member alliance won immunity. But the leader of that majority alliance decided to switch up the votes and instead vote out Ford alliance pal, Jenn Brown.
Unbeknownst to the majority alliance, Brown had a immunity idol and played it at tribal council, negating all of the votes against her and giving Ford alliance the chance to pick off someone from the majority group Kelly Remington with just four votes.
But the numbers were still against Ford alliance this week, and outnumbered seven to four, they scrambled to recruit players from the other side, which was again targeting Anglim.
Yet Anglim has been a formidable competitor, and tonight he won both the reward challenge and (more importantly) the immunity challenge once again denying the majority alliance a chance to vote him out. So the obvious targets were Ford, Brown and Shirin Oskooi.
The majority originally considered Oskooi until their unofficial leader, Mike Holloway, pointed out that Oskooi isn a challenge threat and suggested they vote out Ford instead.
Yet there were cracks in the majority alliance. Sierra Thomas revealed to Ford, Brown and Oskooi that she couldn stand some of the men on her team, especially Dan Foley, whom she deemed as misogynistic. Thomas told the women she was open to a alliance and willing to take out Foley. Ford side needed to recruit one more player from the majority and thought they had that in Tyler Fredrickson, who seemed eager to break up the core bond between Holloway and Foley.
But the plan didn pan out and a shocked Ford was voted off the tribe.
After the vote, Ford good naturedly said she was shocked the thing didn work out but didn blame her opposition for taking her out. She then added, ready to take my first shot of whiskey and have a big bowl of ice cream. a graduate of Christian Academy of Pandora 2016 Charms Knoxville and a student at the University of California Hastings College of Law in San Francisco, was the eighth player Pandora 2016 voted off this season and she becomes the first member of the jury who will decide which finalist wins the million dollar prize. Although she is out of the competition, she will still be seen each week at tribal council, sitting on the jury and observing the votes.
This season, the show 18 were divided into three teams of six players, each representing a different socio economic class. The collar team (featuring business executives and the like), the collar team (including a state trooper and a general contractor), and a collar team of players leading more unconventional lives. Ford was on the collar team along with a sailing instructor, a coconut vendor and a jewelry designer.
